Weekend Get-Away

We just got back from the Glorieta Conference Center near Santa Fe, NM. It was the best weekend we've had in a long time! We left the kids with Honey's parents and just went to relax. Mark and the staff at Glorieta took care of us all weekend. It was awesome! What a beautiful campus they have in Glorieta. The Baptists really know how to do camp! Everyopne was so nice and helpful. We were waited on hand and foot and even got a personal tour of the grounds. This is a picture of the view from our hotel room window. It is the sight I woke up to every morning we were there.

Did I mention that it was beautiful? The trees were changing and the weather was perfect. We wore jeans and a light jacket all weekend. We even kept our room window open the entire weekend.

This is a picture that will always take me back to a conversation that changed our lives. We all have memories like that. I remember the conversation we had New Year's Eve 1997 when we decided to get married. I remember the conversation we had in May 1999 when we decided to take our first youth ministry position. I remember the conversation we had in October 2006 at Glorieta when we began to map out the next chapter in our lives. We sat on the bench and looked at the pond and watched the trees change colors. It was a moment I will never forget.

We were able to rest, relax, pray, talk, and hear God's voice this weekend. I will always thank God for Glorieta and the assurance and comfort he gave us while there.

How beautiful! I grew up Baptist but never made it out there. Our church always went to OK for camp. I am glad that you guys had a wonderful weekend and are feeling the Lord's hand in all of this. That is really neat too about your prayer group! I did not know that those were available to sign up for! I am still thinking of you and praying for you too.

Oh I loved this post. I love when I get to hear about special times between you and God and Robert. It encourages me so much. I've been certain as you have been for years that God's plan for us is perfect, but I cherish times like this when I am reminded yet again that He really does know what He's doing, and it brings me to an incredible peace a gratitude. Thanks for sharing this memory. And may you continue to blessed beyond measure.
