One for the fans

Ok, so only 2 people asked, but here is the recipe for...

Spoon Cake

1 box white cake mix (generic is fine, the drier the cake the better)

1 can crushed pineapples

3 or 4 bananas (depending on the size)

32 oz. frozen, sliced strawberries with sugar

1 lg and 1 sm tub cool whip

1/4 c. to 1/2 c. chopped pecans

1 lg punch bowl, or other serving bowl

#7 birthday candle (optional)

Ok, so, it's basically layers girls. Bake the cake according to the directions on the box. Thaw your strawberries and cool whip. When your cake has cooled, cut it into thirds. Layer cake, fruit, cool whip, and repeat. I like bananas on bottom, and then pineapples, and then strawberries. Don't drain the juice off the pineapples or strawberries, just let it seep down through the layers and the dry cake will soak it up and make it really tasty. Of course, the bowl I use is smaller on bottom and bigger on top, so I don't use the entire 1/3 of cake set aside for the first layer. I just use enough to cover the bottom of the bowl. That way you have a little more than 1/3 to use on your last layer of cake if you need it. You should end with a layer of coolwhip on top (see photo). Most people like a few pecans sprinkled on top, but me and Bubba like it plain. I've also sprinkled coconut on top. I've also made an individual serving version with just white cake on bottom, strawberries in the middle, and cool whip on top. Serve the individuals in a fancy glass and it looks very chic. Chill in the fridge overnight, or at least for a couple of hours. If you have cake left over, snack on it while the cake sets up in the fridge. (for healthier version, leave out that last step)

Serve in bowls with spoons (hence the name). Use a big spoon to serve it with. You want to make sure you get a bite of all the fruits! Enjoy!
