This morning we're spending our time traveling to another state. We left the kids with Honey's mom and we'll return next week. Or next month. Just kidding MIL, we'll be home next week.
This evening begins Honey's National Sales Meeting and it will continue through Monday morning. Most of the meeting guests will leave Monday afternoon, but Honey and I are staying over a few days to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary that will happen this summer. The first few days, Honey will have to wake up early in the mornings to make it to meetings, and break-out sessions, and whatnot. But since I'm just a guest on this trip I don't have to do squat. I'm invited to attend several meals that the company is hosting, which I'll totally be there for, because, HELLO? free food. And it gives me a reason to dress up. And, since the hotel we'll be staying at is nationally recognized for their in-house spa and salon, I'll fulfill my bloggy duty and check out the massage and pedicure services and let you know the inside scoop. Only for you my friends.
In between all the eating, and the spa-ing, and the sleeping in, I'm pretty sure I'll still have some time left over for reading, my very favorite summer activity. I'll read in my room, I'll read by the pool, and I'll probably even find a comfy chair in a tucked away lobby and read there, too. I plan on doing so much summer reading this week, that I packed 2 books. Because I don't want to run out. Because weeks full of complete and total downtime only come along once every 10 years or so, and I don't want to waste one single minute at the concierge's desk begging him to find a Christian bookstore that sells the next installment of my current book obsession.
So what books, pray tell, have me so worked up and excited? Well it's the Baxter Family Drama by Karen Kingsbury. (I'm not sure how to punctuate that name since I'm not sure how it's actually classified. A little help from the English majors would be nice here.) The Baxter Family Drama is a sort of extended series of fiction books that chronicle the lives of the Baxter Family. It's actually made up of 3 different series, and as a bloggy service, I will list them here, in order, the way you should read them if you haven't already.
REDEMPTION SERIES
Redemption
Remember
Return
Rejoice
Reunion
FIRSTBORN SERIES
Fame
Forgiven
Found
Family
Forever
SUNRISE SERIES
Sunrise
Summer
Someday
Sunset (set to release Fall 2008)
I've read the entire Redemption Series and am working on the Firstborn Series. While we're gone, I'll read Family and Forever. Since the title of Forever is Forever, I'm hoping there will be a wedding to read about this week. The rest of my summer will be devoted to the first 3 books in the Sunrise Series so I'll be all caught up and ready for the release of the last book. That should last me until July. If I win Skizzer over at SJ's place, or Sweet Caroline by Rachel Hauck over at Dee's place, I'll totally read that next. And then I'm stuck. I need some more good fiction to get through this summer. What do you suggest?

Did you know I live in the town where the Baxters "live"? She mentions lots of real places in the books. :)
Have you ever read Francine Rivers? She's my fave. Love Angela Hunt, too, for Christian lit.
Have a FABULOUS time!!
Sounds like an interesting series. I am going to have to check that out.

Good choices! The customers that come in our store love that series. I'd also suggest the Restoration Series by Terri Blackstock if you haven't already read them. Best Ever!!! They are so good you won't want to put them down. Your trip sounds like heaven!! Have FUN!!
NO WAY!!! I *just* got the first book in the Redemption series yesterday! We must be on the same wave length or something. I'm already on chapter 6.
Oh and last week I finished Francine Rivers (I don't know how to punctuate that either) book "The Scarlet Thread" and it's really good too. I recommend it.
