I bought a new bathing suit this weekend. Which means that I've spent part of the last two weekends trying on every bathing suit in this stinkin' town. And two weekends of bathing suit shopping has taught me some valuable life lessons.
~No matter how much you weigh or what your dress size, bathing suit shopping is torture. If they would just make the terrorists spend 4 days shopping for stylish, modest, slimming beachwear with a matching cover up, President Obama wouldn't need to worry about "water boarding".
~Seriously, I was so disappointed that it wasn't easier than it was 50 lbs ago.
~Even after you loose 50 lbs, you still have the same pooches and rolls in the same places you've always had them. Granted, they're smaller, but you still gotta' hide them. Or at least cover them.
~Those tankini's? They are stylish. They are convenient when you have to use the restroom. But they are part of a conspiracy to make you pay more for your swim wear. $25 per piece to get a top and a bottom, as opposed to $30 for a one piece.
~At the end of the day, I don't really care what the print looks like. If the colors are bearable, and the fit is good, and the style is acceptable, and the rolls are hidden/covered . . . I'll buy it. Because who cares if it's polka-dot or floral or plaid if the fit is good?
~The bad part. They didn't have another suit in a different print, in the same style, by the same brand, in the same size. So, I'm still bathing suit shopping. Because as much as we're at the pool in the summers, I need two. Yeah.

I hear ya!!! Yeah I've got all the same roles, pooches, and dents...they're just smaller and less noticeable in a slimming pair of black pants. Oh, and not to mention those wonderful stretch marks from my precious children. :)
I know what you mean! I'm skipping the swim suit this year since Kate doesn't know what a pool is yet. We'll settle for shorts and a t shirt in the back yard with the water hose!
Ughhhh...I don't even want to think about shopping for my bathing suit this year. I think the last time I looked good in one I was 16.
your third to the last point was one that I was sitting here in my Idaho office saying "MMMHMMM" to...
Break down and order a couple to try from Lands End. You can return them EASILY via mail or at a Sears store! Pricey, but worth it. They fit well, you can shop from your couch, they last. :) I always get compliments on mine. (And I don't think it is that I have a bathing suit body!!!!)
Why must you remind us it's almost time for swimsuit season? :)
On to a more pertinent matter....please tell me if you love the new washer and dryer? And does the dryer in fact dry faster???? Inquiring minds must know...I'm searching to buy new ones this summer.
