Sit down and stay a while...

We're living on adult time here at the Hairdryer house. Last night Honey and I left at 8:56 to get the movie I'd rented returned to Red Box by 9:00.

And then? We went to Cup of Yo. It was well after 9:30 before we made it back to the house.

We're crazy, huh?

All this adult time in real life has me thinking about adult time in blog life. I started to wonder...what if we were friends in real life? Or what if we really are friends in real life, but you lived in my town, and I could have you over any time I wanted? Sans kids.

If you were really sitting on my couch in the middle of the afternoon shoes kicked off and chocolate nearby with all the time in the world to chat...

I'd tell you that I'm sad school is only 25 days away and I'm desperately trying to hold on to the last threads of summer. I want to make the most of every moment.

I'd confess that my new Sonic obsession is a large water with lemon and sweet n low. I've had one almost every day this summer. And I'm OK with that because, as obsessions go, this one is pretty good for you and at $.54 it really doesn't get much cheaper.

I'm off sugar again...for an undetermined amount of time. But since it's not Lent and I haven't made a vow to God about it or anything, I'll probably allow myself to bend my rules for REALLY special occasions.

Special occasions like Prayer Group this weekend. Yay! I'm really excited about this year. More excited than I usually am. I can't really put my finger on why...I just am. This will be year number 14. We started when we were 10. Just kidding.

I'm also excited that I'm teaching Bible class for the 1st and 2nd grade girls tonight. We're studying one of my favorite topics...God made you special and he loves you very much.

I'm feeling a little bit like a vampire right now. When we came home from camp my nails looked like this:

. . . courtesy of the pre-camper nail salon. Those big black sharpie looking marks on my toes? Those are zebra stripes.
But then I got all crazy this morning went to the nail place and now they look like this:

No, it's not black...it's a really deep purple. I've never worn a color this dark...but I like it. Don't tick me off or I might have to drink your blood.

Last May Honey painted the kitchen for me as a surprise for my birthday. I'd picked out a color and the swatch was propped up on the light switch for about 6 months. I came home from the preschool one day and he'd taped, painted 2 coats, and put all the stuff back on the walls all between 7:45 am and 3:30 pm. And I loved the color.

Until about a year later when we painted the living room. And I found the aqua-ish stuff to go in the living room. And now the living room and the kitchen don't go.

And even though this is a terrible picture and the color in the living room and the kitchen are not true to real life, I've decided to paint the kitchen the color of the wash cloth hanging on the wall. It will go so much better with the living room.
Since the kids are gone...I might not cook at all this week.
We are in desperate need of some new bar stools. I know I want dark wood, and I know I want a back on them. Any ideas?
What about you? What would you want to chat about . . . if you were really here, in my living room, with all the time in the world to chat?

I would absolutely love to chat! With the few weeks left before school, the thought had crossed my mind for a day trip. (We have packed a suitcase for the last 4 weeks, so a day trip is good!)

Chat about Julianne Michael's Shred...ok, Girlfriend. Like so many times in my life, I'm following in your footsteps. Oh, my word, that kicked my tail! I haven't had the guts to try level 2 yet!

Sweetheart and I just got back from going to a Colorado Rockies game just the two of us. They lost, but we had fun! We've decided that it is the "curse of the scorebook." Out of 18 games I have scored over the last 11 years, I have only scored 7 winning games (at least the team we were rooting for didn't win). That is crazy!

Enjoy your kid-free week! And have a blast at Prayer Group!
