Keeping my options open

Well, girls...I am pleased to announce that using our "List of Options" as a guide to eating last week was by and large a success. We still had a few last minute changes here and there, but it was so nice to have a list hanging on the fridge. And my eyes didn't glaze over when someone asked "What's for supper?"... at least not as many times as usual.

So, today is grocery store day and I have added another element to my "list of options". We get paid twice a month. And so, twice a month, I go to the grocery store and buy as much as I can for the next two weeks all in one whack. Mostly because I despise going to the grocery store. And mostly because, if it's not on hand at my house, I usually opt for going out to eat because that is greatly more enjoyable than going to the grocery store. And I have an extra fridge in the garage, so I have the room to store everything and support my laziness.

So here is my "list of options" for the next two weeks:

Breakfast
Poppyseed bread/ fruit
Muffins/fruit
Cereal
Egg Burritos
Monkey Bread
Cinnamon Rolls

Lunch
Mac & Cheese
Quesadillas
Chicken Nuggets
Grilled Cheese
Pigs n’ a Blanket
Lunchables
Spaghettios
Chicken Sandwiches

Supper
Shrimp Scampi
Chicken Enchilada Casserole
German Pasta
Hamburgers
B-b-q shrimp
Chicken rolls
Taco Salad
Grilled Chicken Salad
Breakfast for Dinner – Pancakes
Rotisserie chicken w/ veggies

Yes, I know that shrimp scampi has been on the list for a couple of weeks, but we really are going to eat it for supper this time around. Probably tonight, right after we get back from the pool, because it's supposed to be 97 degrees today!

I seriously need to create a "list of options" as well and shop accordingly. I seem to shop so randomly and then I wonder why I have spent over a hundred dollars on food and have "nothing to eat".

I want recipes for the following:
German Pasta
Chicken Rolls
Monkey Bread- I have had this but forget how you make it

Thanks for making me hungry!

We get p[aid once a month now and I do it for a month at a time- talk about exhausting. I go at 10 on a Friday night at the beginning of the month by myself. Sadly, I really look forward to it all month! I also have an extra in the garage so it makes it possible- nice isn't it?!
