Something to smile about

My friend . . . ahem . . . says thanks for all the encouragement you sent in the comments section of the last post. Things are looking up for the PTA, and now that two major financial (think: IRS, taxes, charter with the state and national PTA) deadlines are passed, everyone on the board is breathing a little easier. From here on out my friend promises to take it one step at a time and not get overwhelmed . . . and to take every single one of you up on your offers for dessert!

In honor of this new outlook, this change in attitude, this thank-goodness-we-got-it-postmarked-by-the-15th feeling, I'm letting y'all in on some things that make me smile.

Grinning on the inside smile:
Bubba and I now wear the same size t-shirt

Eyes rolled back in your head smile:
Honey giving my shoulders and neck a much needed massage

Laugh so you don't cry smile:
Listening to a friend talk about the Star Wars birthday-in-a-box she sent her son who just left for his second tour of duty in the middle east

Taking a stroll down memory lane smile:
Helping a friend feed her twins while we wait for our older kids at gymnastics

Put your feet up and relax smile:
Our two big field trips for this school year are DONE!

I knew He would all along smile:
Knowing exactly to the penny how much money we need to make it through the month, and watching the numbers on the direct deposit add up to that plus a little extra

How funny is that smile:
After the girls sat through countless meetings with me over the last 3 weeks, watching them hurry to their room to play "meeting"

I could do this all day smile:
Listening to Bubba talk about the new friends he's getting to know this year at school

Grinning with anticipation smile:
High School Musical 3: Senior Year premiers in 8 days

This is what I was made to do smile:
Cooler nights warmed up with a cup of decaf under a blanket next to Honey on the couch

Make your eyes twinkle smile:
Knowing that Halloween is only 15 days away, and after that it's fair game to decorate for Christmas

What about you? What's making you smile these days?

Hmmmm... Right this very minute it's a sweet girl who is tending her Mama with a sick stomach. Love that kid.

Glad your PTA stuff is looking up, friend.

(I smiled a lot thinking about the cookie dough and the walk!)
