Baby Shower

Oh, this will be so much fun!

Two of our old youth group kids are all grown up now and a couple of years ago they got married. Jennifer has just found out that she's pregnant! Exciting, right?! I kinda' feel like I'm going to be a grandma...in a weird, not really sort of way.

Anyway, Jennifer has just started feeling the dreaded morning sickness. Yuk!

So, to cheer her up. . .brighten her day. . .let her know she will live through this. . .

Leave a comment telling us what foods made you happy during your first trimester. And if you have any fool-proof ways to avoid morning sickness altogether, why don't you throw that advice in there, too.

Come on Mamas, I know you all have a story to tell.

To avoid morning sickness, I always made sure to eat something at least once every two hours. And, honestly, the one thing that always made me feel better when I did get it was something greasey (like with a hangover).

I had the WORST morning sickness...except it was in the evenings. I know prego pops (lollipops) are supposed to help...you can order them off the internet. Ginger (in anything) can also help. And....time helps! Amazingly it goes away and in no time you are looking in the eyes of the most precious person in the world!

I had to eat 3 saltine crackers before I could get out of bed. Also citrus helped. A youth minister's wife told me to drink margarita mix! Take things slow and get lots of sleep. You'll be feeling better before you know it!!

I sucked on lemon drops like it was nobody's business. It helped, but I never had really awful morning sickness. Hope she feels better soon.

Yep, the saltine crackers before I moved in bed helped, and keeping something on your stomach helps (even though it sounds backwards), and don't take your vitamin on an empty stomach. It is just the beginning of not so plesant things, BUT it is totally worth it! Wait until you feel the baby move...that is the coolest!
