Yesterday I took the kids for breakfast at the donut shop. While we were eating, Mary TuTu, my sleep in, wake me for brunch diva, was savoring every bite of her chocolate donut with sprinkles. Donuts might be her love language. They are one of her comfort foods at the very least.
As she was expressing the euphoria she was feeling over the donut breakfast, a thought hit her. "I think I've found the job I want to do when I grow up. I can work at the donut store! I bet you get to eat all the leftover donuts, and I love donuts."
I looked at her sweet, chocolate covered face and replied, "Yeah, but you have to wake up early if you're going to work at the donut store."
"How early?" she asked.
"Well the store opens at 5:30 in the morning, so you would have to get here earlier than that so you could make the donuts before the store opens."
"Five thirty?! That's earlier than Dad wakes up to go to work!" Bubba added.
"Oh my goodness! That is early. That probably isn't the job for me, 'cuz I don't like to get up early." she decided.
From the donut shop we headed to get the girls' hair cut. We got there around 10am right as they were opening up. As we were leaving, Mary TuTu asked, "Mom, what time does this place open? 'Cuz I think I might like to work at a place like this, and do hair and stuff."
"Well, it opened right about the time we got here, 10:00 in the morning."
"Ok, I think I can handle that. That's it! I'm going to be a hair cutter when I grow up."

A girl after my own heart!! How many times was I late when I was interning for Honey??
it is good that she realizes these things about herself now. :) Saves her so much trouble!
My kinda' girl!
Way sweet!
At least she sets realistic goals! She knows she can't get up and working before 5:30, so look for careers that open later. :)
