The Post I Am NOT Going To Write

I absolutely am not even going to mention the fact that I haven't posted in over 2 months. I'm just going to ignore it and move on.

And because of that I'm not even going to try one of those lame posts trying to bring you up to speed on what's happened since the last post. Those catch up posts are all the same...full of excuses.

So, you won't hear me mention that we've had some car trouble over the last few weeks and that Honey is driving his THIRD car since I last posted.

And I won't even breathe a word about our computer dying over the Christmas break. Really dying. And even after 3 hours on the phone with Dell, I still lost ALL OF MY PICTURES. Well, not all of them, just everything from the years 2007, 2008, and 2009.

And since I'm not mentioning the loosing all of my pictures thing, it won't help you to know that 2009 was a pretty big year in the Hairdryer household...pre-k graduation, first day of kindergarten, first tooth lost...

And since we're not talking about it, I know you will not leave all of your know-it-all comments about how I should have been backing up my pictures and stuff...

And not speaking of our Christmas holidays...other than the Computer Crash of 2009, we did have some fun. You would be most excited to hear about all the traveling we did, but I'm not going to mention the weekend we loaded my entire side of the family in a 15 passenger van and drove 7 hours to see the ICE! exhibit at the Gaylord Texan and visit the American Girl store for the first time.

You won't hear me talking about going to visit the Lastnames, or sending Bubba with my parents to watch the Spurs play on their home court. It wouldn't be any fun to hear about it anyway...I DON'T HAVE ANY PICTURES TO SHOW YOU!

And it doesn't matter that the girls both lost their second tooth on the same day, with all the drama and passion that only little girls possess, because I'm not going to tell you about it.

And as fun as New Year's Eve was, I'm not going to talk about the crazy scavenger hunt we sent the kids on.

And I'm not going to speak of the saddness I felt when Colt was injured in the National Championship game. Or the fact that I cried the Momma Cry when I saw his post-game interview.

And seriously, raise your hand if you're sick of hearing about the drama around Texas Tech firing Coach Leach. Me, too. So I'm not going to say that I'm sorry Leach is gone. He made Tech football more fun. Tuberville seems to be a good guy though, so I'm willing to give him a chance.

I'm not going to tell you how much we loved The Blindside, The Princess and the Frog, and Avatar.

I'm not mentioning the fact that I am hooked on a new series of books. It's called The Immortals Series. I've already read the first 3 installments and waiting on the 4th to come out this summer. They aren't nearly as wonderful and magical as Twilight, in fact they are sort of a cheap knock-off version of Twilight, but they're shorter, and I'm hooked.

And since we're not on the subject, I'm not telling you that Bubba and I have started reading Harry Potter together. I'm glad I waited this long to read them. Mostly because it's fun to discuss the books with Bubba like our own little book club sort of thing, but partly because the books are all published, so as soon I finish one, I can rush right out and get the next one without waiting 6 months or a year for it to debut.

Can you say "addict"?

No you can't because we aren't talking about it!

So, bloggy peeps, what have you been doing that you absolutely will not tell me about?

You're back! I've missed you! Although it was good to talk on the phone and hear your actual voice (you know, instead of the voice I hear in my head as I read your posts!)

You mentioned going to the Gaylord, but I didn't know you went to the American Girl store. I bet your mom and the girls went nuts! I know my mom and my girl would!

I was sad about Colt too, and was very proud of him in his post-game interview. I hope my boys grow up to have that much faith in God's providence and the courage to show it!

Blindside...awesome!

New Year's eve scavenger hunt...I would like to know more. You are so creative! I didn't think of anything cool to make it fun for my kids. In fact I totally forgot it was special to stay up late and sent them to bed at 8:00! (They were driving me nuts!) Dad intervened and they stayed up a little later. Then I was not in control of the remote and we watched someone who doesn't have much sense jump over a barg or something at midnight and totally missed the ball drop! It still doesn't feel like it should be 2010 yet!

First tooth and second tooth drama...been there done that too!

Love you, Girl! Glad we didn't catch up here!

thrilling moment when I saw you in my reader! gone two months, I don't know- I would have expected a little more to happen for you. At least a fourth car, or the loss of 2006's photos as well. Geesh.

in all seriousness, the photo thing is devastating! there isn't any recovery at all?

my favorite line, in this entire post, is in re: to the book series you are reading. When you said "only shorter" while comparing them to twilight. I seriously laughed out loud.

Yay! I have missed your blog updates! Good to see you back. I'm sooo sorry about the pictures. Oh man! That makes ME want to cry for you. I'm glad you've had some great opportunities to enjoy your family the last couple of months. That's what it's all about!

Something I will not talk about is that even though I moved in June, there are still 6 boxes that remain unpacked shoved in various corners of the house!!! Oh well.

I had wondered about you! Sorry for all the craziness and glad you're back!! Oh and I love the pics they recovered.
